Put your best people on your biggest opportunities, not on your biggest problems. Often we look at the needs in our ministry and place whoever is available into that position. In my experience this works in the short run but never in the long run. Have you ever-considered moving adult volunteers around in your ministry based on our biggest opportunities? Hard to think it would be possible. We don’t want our staff to know who we think is good at youth ministry and who is not. We don’t want to place more importance on one group of students over another. But by keeping all the adult volunteers on the same level and not challenging one group of students over another, are we paying a price for this thinking?
