Do you ever say to yourself, my team doesn’t get what we are trying to do. It may not be their fault, it may be yours. Understanding the mission of a youth ministry will not happen for volunteers just because you mentioned it once. You have to communicate it often and in many ways. Start you next staff meeting with this experiment; give each member of your team a piece of blank paper and ask them to write out the mission of the student ministry. Don’t allow them to talk with anyone. Then ask them to write down how they live out the mission in relationship with students. Don’t have them write their names on the paper. Collect the papers and review them with your team.  You can read some of the answers out loud if you want and teach through the answers. If the team is on the wrong track set them on the right track. if they know the vision well, move to talking about living it out with students. This experiment will be interesting and give you lots to talk about with your team.
